the delancey (and the wrens) rule(s).

first: we have a show tomorrow (thursday 10.25) at the delancey. and yeah, we played there 6 days ago, but this is a really special show….here’s why:

our friends, the red chapel, are playing at 7:30 before

one member of one of our favorite bands of all time, charles bissell of the wrens, is playing at 8:30

then we’re playing at 10:30.

why the delancey rules:

somehow in the rush caused by cmj, i left my keyboard there on friday after our pop tarts suck toasted daytime showcase. we didnt realize it was missing until sunday afternoon when we went to rehearse at our rehearsal studio (interesting note: this rehearsal space is owned by the aforementioned red chapel). at this point, i expected that one of the 300 bands (rough estimate) that played at the delancey after our showcase on friday afternoon had probably taken it. i went there anyways just to check if it was still there…and to my surprise, the bartender had saved it in the office for me. well he wasn’t really saving it for me, i think he hoped i’d never come back for it, because its a pretty nice synth…but that doesn’t matter because he was honest and gave it back to me. thanks (mike?) the bartender at the delancey!

in honor of these three great things (in order of greatness): 1. playing with charles bissell 2. playing with the red chapel 3. recovering a lost synthesizer left at a club on the lower east side we are leaving our cmj week exclusive full album download up for a few more days, even though cmj week is over with.
